WAREHOUSES
Part of DI comprehensive offering to businesses and investors of the city is its warehouses, which lie at the heart of the manufacturing process to meet the requirements of storage, cargo and other logistical needs of DI tenants.
DI is building a total of 24 million square feet of warehouses that offer investors the option of leasing various storage spaces that range between 5,000 to 10,000 square feet in size.
The warehouses are designed for cold storage, chemicals and transport equipments and parts, also open air storage wards will be on offer in DI, in addition to warehouses that are designed with retail showrooms at the front to allow investors to display their products and services while storing it at the back of the facility.
All DI warehouses will feature rest facilities for drivers, praying areas and other services to support the industry. DI has already built 1.5 million square feet of warehouses and an additional 1.5 million square feet are currently being built and are due to be operational by January 1st, 2009.
The warehouses in DI are built as per the latest health and safety standards as they feature a series of fire fighting and safety features in each warehouse as follows:
- Pre-case concrete walls that can contain fires and prevent them from spreading to adjacent warehouses for a period of four hours.
- Water sprinkler system, fire hose, fire extinguishers and emergency exit doors. Fire proof doors as well as fans across each warehouse.
Open Yard Storage
Dubai Industrial City has also an open yard storage area of 2.2m sq.ft. The facility is fully fenced, with perimeter lighting and 24 hour security.
The area is fully tarmaced and offers clients a secure area in which to store their products.
Items which can be stored range from construction materials to automobiles.
LOCATION
In order to provide flexible business solutions for investors and manufacturers state-of-art warehousing for general purpose is available in DI in three strategic areas: adjacent to food & beverage, the base metals and labour accommodation zones. Each cluster is located on the main internal road, linked by traffic routes designed specifically to reduce travel distance within the city.

Warehouses of 5,000 sq ft and 10,000 sq ft and retail showrooms with adjoining warehouse and AC provision are available for lease in multiples of 5,000 sq. ft in phases 1, 2 and 3 of the development. Showrooms boast road front page and are contained within a dedicated perimeter with controlled access via security gates and easy in and out traffic.
