DI (Dubai Industrial City) continues to implement best practices and improve its business management systems on an electronic business management system (EBMS) platform. The EBMS facilitates access to business practices through individual desk top of all employees and thus creates a window for easy deployment both vertical and horizontal across the organization.
The city leadership recognizes the need to align business with stakeholder expectations and constantly strives to identify new processes and refine existing process interfaces to ensure alignment across board. The business management system has evolved over a period of time and management reviews ensure that they remain relevant and comprehensive to meet business expectations.
DI as part of its social corporate responsibility sponsored development of Dubai Quality Mark™ - an integrated quality health safety and environmental maturity based model. The leadership realised that this model should form the basis not just for our investors that operate industrial facilities but also for our business to be measured for QHSE excellence. The concept behind this model allows organizations to deploy programs and initiatives and measure the results to assess maturity.
With the current quality management system certified against the ISO 9001:2000 standard since September 2006, the city aims to address requirements of OHSAS 18000, ISO 14000 and other international best practices relevant to its business spectrum that include deployment of HACCP.
Dubai Industrial City aims to achieve measurable improvements to attain various levels of DQM in the coming years thereby attaining organizational maturity towards QHSE. Utilizing the dynamic nature of the DQM framework, the city will continually address the hazards and associated risks within all areas of operation.
Systematic and structured planning processes are underway at the city to integrate the business management systems and operate it on a risk based approach to achieve QHSE excellence and be measured and rated against the Dubai Quality Mark™ requirements.
